Paul had to say...A psychologist in private practice, married 32 years to a wonderful woman, no kids, two dogs and a cat. I'm a very liberal Episcopalean who loves where my church here in the USA and Canada is going. I believe in responsibility, not judgement. I am also a Democrat, but it's wearing thin the past few years as the party has failed miserably to stand up to the "christian" right wing fundy warmongering Rebublican Administration that is making our beloved country the laughing stock of the world. We are no longer respected and admired so much as we are feared! I saw it coming the moment Bush said "Axis of Evil." Demonize anyone, even your enemies, and all you get is Hell. Our country did that, and it appears we've been creating Hell in a lot of places around this world ever since. Too sad! I have been reading science fiction pretty much since I could read. I used to stop off at a drug store on my way home from school (1st and 2nd grade) and read two Marvel or DC comic books before the clerk got pissed off and then buy a third one. Then I'd sell the ones I would collect at half price to my comrades at school. (It was a Catholic school. Kind of like a Gulag. If you know what I mean. Those were the days when, if you thought a Sister was sexy, you really had to guess because of the long black robes and headress.) Of course the school and public libraries were my friends. I recall riding my bike to a local library every Saturday when I was growing up in Cleveland, Ohio. (NOT IN WINTER!) Anyway, I have been buying and trading books all my life. Finding PBS was a dream come true as most book swap stores these days are just ridiculous as to prices and rate of return on used books. Yes, I am cheap. Very cheap. Not as cheap as one of my friends who would take rabies shots if they were free, but close. That's all for now. Read on! |
